Chapter Chapter 4 in Decisions in International Trade and Logistics, 2025, pp 97-128 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Though globalization has influenced the political ideology of most developing countries and has driven liberal economic and diplomatic policies to blend international business with local markets, the political interventions are unavoidable for the overseas companies. On the contrary, governments in some developing countries are ineffective in responding to the international business conducts like implementing the intellectual property rights, which may cause deep concerns for the multinational companies to do business in the destination markets. This chapter addresses issues on the changing political ideologies and business growth, political interventions, political risk assessment, international legal perspectives, host country laws, arbitration, and concerns on intellectual property protection in the destination markets.
