A chapter in Services Science, 2008, pp 149-154 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Collaboration between universities and industry has a long tradition in engineering, information systems, and informatics in Germany. A large number of research groups engage in joint research and development activities with large, medium-sized, and startup enterprises. Some of these projects receive their funding directly and exclusively from industry but many projects benefit from public research funding that places a high priority on collaborative, applied research by universities, research institutes, and private enterprises.
