Abstract:
Abstract Besides eccentric load, the bolt in the pre-tightening bolt connections is loaded by the axis-force P and the bend moment. The FEM method was used to analysis pre-tightening bolt connections under eccentric load. In the finite element analysis model, diameter of screw is 14mm, and diameter of bolt is 12mm. The material of bolt is 20Crl3, E=220GPa, v=0.3, σs=700MPa, the material of nut is Zr+2.5%Nb, E=88GPa, v=0.3, σs=235MPa, σh=392MPa. During the first analysis, Considered the contact between the nut and the below flange, the nut contact with the below flange at left side, the bolt contact with the screw, the length of contact between nut and the below flange at right side is 1.36 mm, and the width of nut upper flat roof is 14.17mm. The result of the analysis is that the σmax of bolt is 480.6MPa and the σmax of nut is 233MPa. The structure is safe. And during the second analysis, the new model which based on the data of measures described as below: The contact range is about 120°, and the bolt axis inosculate with the screw axis (the nut was erased for 2.7 mm at the left side, at the same time it went up for 2.07 mm). Considered the contact of nut and below flange, the nut full contact with the below at left side, the length of contact is 1.87 mm at right side, and the width of nut upper flat roof is 9.64 mm. The result of the analysis shows that the σmax of bolt is 578.1MPa and the σmax of nut is 235.1MPa. The structure is safe.
