Abstract:
Summary After extensive investigations and in-depth studies of crowd dynamics with Chinese characteristics, especially in stations of Urban Mass Transit, we proposed a new architecture for agent oriented pedestrian simulation. It’s designed to simulate the movement of thousands of individual pedestrians through large, geometrically complex 2D space. Our PSS (Pedestrian Simulation System for Urban Mass Transit Station) based on this architecture has been developed. The results of the case studies show that the architecture is feasible and effective in simulating intelligent human behaviors. Characteristic by openness and scalability, it can be easily applied to other situations, such as Olympics and Expo, etc.
