Abstract: Abstract The configuration of the value creation process refers to how the different value-adding activities of the company are set up in different geographical locations. The company has to determine the number of locations for each activity and fix the specific locations. In this chapter, we will mainly focus on operations: the sourcing, production and logistic processes. R & D processes are not considered (for R & D processes see Morschett/Schramm-Klein/Zentes, 2010, p. 347 ff.).
