Synthesis: Ethics in Consumer Choice and Empirical Analysis based on the Example of Coffee
Nina Langen
Chapter D in Ethics in Consumer Choice, 2013, pp 331-344 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides a synthesis of part B and part C of the dissertation. It brings together the findings of the more theoretical analysis of ethical behaviour with the empirical findings from face-to-face interviews and experiments with consumers in Germany. In a short summary the major issues of this thesis, such as the question as to whether consumers distinguish between different forms of ethical behaviour, are brought together with the findings of chapter 4 and conclusions and implications are drawn accordingly. Limitations of the thesis are discussed and suggestions are made for researchers as well as consumer policy, business and NGOs concerned about the ethics of consumer choices.
