Abstract: Zusammenfassung Rudolf Wille (1937-2017) hatte zunächst Schulmusik mit dem Nebenfach Mathematik für das Lehramt studiert, dann jedoch eine universitäre Laufbahn in der Mathematik eingeschlagen. Von 1970 bis zu seiner Emeritierung im Jahr 2003 lehrte und forschte er als Mathematik-Professor an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt – mathematisch im Bereich der Algebra, der Ordnungs- und Verbandstheorie. Eine Vielzahl seiner Arbeiten reicht über die Fachmathematik hinaus in die Philosophie und Didaktik der Mathematik.
