Abstract: Zusammenfassung Die kommunale Ebene agiert als Schlüsselakteur bei der Bereitstellung von Leistungen der Daseinsvorsorge. Vor dem Hintergrund angespannter Kommunalhaushalte und vielerorts hoher Schuldenstände sind viele Kommunen auf Konzepte zur Sicherstellung von Kosteneffizienz und Nachhaltigkeit angewiesen. Ein solches Instrument zur Planung, Steuerung und Kontrolle der wirtschaftlichen Aktivitäten stellt das Controlling dar.
