Abstract: Abstract This article sheds light on how organizations and their employees are dealing with the increasing hybridization of meetings, i.e. when participants are both physically and virtually involved. In the first part, theoretical approaches to types of meetings, as well as the influence of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, are examined. From these findings, a quantitative survey is conducted, which is intended to explain the influence of hybridization on meetings. In addition to numerous insights, the central finding is that the respondents have more problems with the emotional distance from participants than with technical challenges in meetings.
