A chapter in The Future of Work, 2024, pp 95-101 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Work time design is in a state of continuous change. Flexible and demand-oriented work time design is an important lever for transformation into a new world of work. It offers companies and employees room for operational and individual solutions. With flexible and demand-oriented work time models, the needs of the employees and the interests of the company can be harmonized. However, they require a holistic overall concept. The challenge at the operational level is to match the respective operational requirements with the wishes and needs of the employees and to optimally coordinate them. In this way, companies can respond better and faster to economic and seasonal order situations, and employees can adapt their working hours to individual wishes and concerns.
