Abstract: Zusammenfassung Die wissenschaftliche Laufbahn von Gabriele Kaiser begann bereits 1973 als Studentin für das gymnasiale Lehramt mit den Fächern Mathematik und Gesellschaftslehre an der damaligen Gesamthochschule Kassel. Im Seminar „Genese und Anwendbarkeit von Mathematik“, geleitet von Werner Blum, fiel Gabriele Kaiser als besonders aktive Studentin auf, die vor allem die gesellschaftliche Relevanz der Mathematik einforderte.
