Integrating the Project Management Office into the Strategy Process
Martin R. Sedlmayer
A chapter in Projektportfolio-Management, 2011, pp 193-208 from Springer
Abstract:
Zusammenfassung This paper shows that deriving projects from the corporate strategy (process) and creating a single entity (organizational structure) responsible for both definition and implementation of the strategy can significantly increase the effectiveness of strategy implementation as well as the rate of project success. Furthermore, it discusses issues to be surmounted. As will be shown, the appropriate positioning within the organization of the project management office with highly qualified delivery capabilities and its core business function of project portfolio management is the most important key factor for this integrated approach.
