Chapter Chapter 16 in Speaking Management, 2021, pp 293-300 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter summarises McGrath and Whitty (2018) which applied the Mangle of Chap. 10 to accountability and responsibility, producing clear, non-overlapping definitions. This chapter paraphrases and/or reproduces selected portions of that paper, which found that the concepts of accountability and responsibility are often confused, and many dictionaries define one in terms of the other.
