Chapter Chapter 10 in Huawei, 2023, pp 233-262 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The most challenging issues for a team leader include how to improve employees’ sense of belonging, loyalty and dedication and avoid slackness. To address these issues, the company must be attractive to ambitious talent, especially young talent and be cohesive so that employees are willing to invest their emotional and intellectual input in the process of accomplishing the organization’s vision and mission. Therefore, the company must have a good reputation and its values must resonate with the young talent; meanwhile it must meet young people’s diversified needs and provide a platform for them to fulfill themselves. To achieve this, the company’s strategy, culture, business development and incentive mechanism need to meet a high bar. With more and more “post-90s” joining the workforce, how to fully motivate them gives many executives a headache. In this chapter, we focus on Huawei’s practices in the following three areas.
