A chapter in Contemporary Strategic Chinese American Business Negotiations and Market Entry, 2023, pp 311-334 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores whether different societies have a common framework for resolving ethical or moral disputes by focusing on the differences between Chinese and American ethics. The aim of the discussion is to help readers better discern the opportunities and risks associated with perceptual differences in cross-cultural business activities. This exploration of American and Chinese ethics encompasses the background, theory, beliefs, and mechanisms of the ethical systems of the two countries, with a focus on honesty, deception, and corruption. Difficulties with cross-cultural business relationships can cause market imbalances, and this chapter therefore also focuses on the application of social ethics to moral issues in cross-cultural business activities.
