Abstract: Abstract About 1–3% of chemically synthesized drugs are intended for wound treatment and reported in the western pharmacopeias; however, the rest are covered by traditional herbal treatment for wound and skin diseases. Besides, the idea of using traditional plants for wound healing has gained global interest over the years and offers several advantages over chemically synthesized drugs. Traditional plant extract for wound healing is not only more affordable than synthetic drugs but also easily accessible, which makes it more valuable in resource-limited situations. Moreover, the safety of traditional organic treatment is an important quality to consider when compared to the available synthetic drug that gives inevitable side effects. Therefore, utilizing traditional plants in the form of nano formulation after scientific evaluation would enhance the wound healing properties, give relatively cost-effective options, and provide a better safety profile. This chapter will discuss the application of green-nano formulation as a better alternative for treating wound and other skin diseases compared to synthetically manufactured drugs.
