IR 5.0 is the emergence of artificial intelligenceArtificial intelligence (AI) interactions with humans. This entails the ability of AIArtificial intelligence to feel and react accordingly. Such AI capability is suggested to improve the effectiveness of green human resource managementgreen human resource management (green HRM), which aims to promote environmentalSustainability sustainabilityEnvironmental sustainability through human resource activities, encouraging employeesEmployee to be environmentally conscious. In IR 5.0, AIArtificial intelligence can help green HRM monitor HR needs and ensure seamless remote recruitmentRecruitment and selectionSelection of top talents for the organizationOrganizations. Green HRM can also benefit from the use of AI by ensuring that trainingTraining can be done online through simulation, reducing carbon emissions from travelling. Also, employeesEmployee’ progress can be monitored remotely. Further, it can help ensure that employeesEmployee’ green performances are well measured and accounted for in green performance managementGreen performance management to provide fair rewards. This chapter implies that using AIArtificial intelligence in green HRM implementation may encourage employeesEmployee to be more conscious about carrying out greenGreen behaviours behaviourBehaviours at work.
