Abstract: Abstract Chapter 16 guides you through the process of producing and editing engaging social media videos for a range of platforms. This chapter presents debates surrounding vertical versus horizontal video, native versus linked video, etc. Chapter 16 also explores the use of smartphones versus digital video cameras to capture footage. Additionally, it explains the process of pre-production to ensure footage and sound captured allows for quality digital storytelling to target audiences. This chapter also investigates the phenomenon and production of short form video such as Reels and TikToks, live video for platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and Instagram and video conferencing tools such as Zoom and Facebook Rooms. Finally, the use of AI video production and editing tools will be explored to provide Social Media Managers with a comprehensive overview of the range of tools available.
