Abstract: Abstract The first chapter presents the developments of the most important information and communication applications and the five-phase model of digital transformation. Building on this, the development stages of digital business are described, the service exchange process in the internet economy is discussed, and digital user behavior is presented. Chapter 1 concludes with the fundamental success factors of digital business.
