Chapter Chapter 7 in Reliability and Safety of Complex Technical Systems and Processes, 2011, pp 331-396 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The methods based on the results included in the book that are not used in the previous chapters are applied to the reliability, availability and safety identification, prediction and optimization of various kinds of systems. Direct applications of Proposition 3.1 to reliability and Propositions 3.4 and 3.5 to renewal and availability characteristics prognosis of the series and parallel systems operating at the variable operating conditions are presented. The results of the asymptotic approach to the system reliability analysis presented in Sect. 3.3 are applied to the reliability prediction of the large parallel-series system operating at the varying in time conditions. The safety analysis of the steel cover is performed using the result of Sect. 1.2, concerned with the consecutive “m out of n: F” system. Finally, the comprehensive application of the methods of the operation, reliability, renewal and availability analysis, modeling, identification, prediction and optimization to the container gantry crane is performed to illustrate practically the overall approach to reliability and safety analysis of any real complex technical system.
