Chapter 3 in Recent Advances in Reliability and Quality in Design, 2008, pp 57-84 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The two-parameter Weibull distribution is one of the most widely used life distributions in reliability studies. It has shown to be satisfactory in modeling the phenomena of fatigue and life of many devices such as ball bearings, electric bulbs, capacitors, transistors, motors and automotive radiators. In recent years, a number of modifications of the traditional Weibull distribution have been proposed and applied to model complex failure data sets.
