Chapter Chapter 14 in Reliability Assessment of Safety and Production Systems, 2021, pp 185-193 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides the mathematical bases implemented in the various probabilistic approaches belonging to the Boolean family approaches based on graphical models such as reliability block diagram, fault tree, event tree, etc. It also provides the basic definitions of events and operators (NOT, OR, AND) used within the Boolean algebra framework. It lays the bases for time-independent probability calculations and for extending them to time-dependent calculations.
