A chapter in Data-Driven Methods for Reliability and Safety Engineering: Applications in Industrial Systems, 2026, pp 155-167 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract To enable the rational allocation of maintenance and management resources, enhance the reliability of systems and components, and ensure the safe, stable, and economical operation of nuclear power plants, hierarchical equipment management is essential. With the advancement of equipment reliability management and maintenance technologies, methods for equipment reliability classification have gradually evolved. This paper examines the methodology and process of equipment reliability classification and presents a pilot study on the cabin negative pressure ventilation system of a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor. The analysis demonstrates that the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor provides a viable basis for implementing equipment reliability classification. Integrating classifications based on equipment operating frequency and environmental conditions into the reliability classification process facilitates the optimization of preventive maintenance programs, thereby enhancing both safety and economic performance.
