Chapter Chapter 2 in Introduction to Quality and Reliability Engineering, 2015, pp 11-25 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract From the manufacturer’s perspective, the life cycle of a product can be roughly divided into three main phases: pre-manufacturing phase, manufacturing phase, and post-manufacturing phase. To set the background for the following chapters of this book, we discuss the main engineering activities in each phase of product life cycle (PLC) with focus on quality and reliability activities in this chapter. An approach to solving quality and reliability problems is also presented.
