Chapter Chapter 1 in Network Reliability in Practice, 2012, pp 1-4 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The International Symposium on Transportation Network Reliability (INSTR) brings together researchers and professionals interested in transportation network reliability to discuss both recent research and future directions in this increasingly important field of research. The reliability of transportation networks took center stage as an issue with the sudden collapse of the I-35W Mississippi River Bridge in Minneapolis on August 1, 2007. This occurred just several weeks after the Third International Symposium on Transportation Network Reliability (INSTR) was held in Delft, where the location for the fourth INSTR in 2010 in Minneapolis had been approved.
