Chapter 6 in Reengineering in Action:The Quest for World-Class Excellence, 1999, pp 95-117 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
AbstractModern manufacturing enterprises must collaborate with a large number of suppliers to design and produce their products. Management of these supply chains is crucial. This chapter proposes a simulation-based, supply chain management system, which supports the implementation of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) in an integrated system environment. The scope of the BPR includes management processes for production and operations within the supply chain. This chapter describes the process analysis, models, and simulation methodologies. It also discusses a supply chain integration methodology.
