Abstract:
AbstractThis article examines the use of Informatics Technology by the small Enterprises. This paper provides insight into the level of Informatics Technology use in the various enterprises surveyed and examines the type of Information Technology (E-commerce, Decision Support Systems, Data warehousing/Data mining) that is implemented in the above enterprises. The survey was conducted among 173 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Greece. The research findings are very encouraging with respect to the number of enterprises that use Information Technology. The increase in the number of computers and web site availability, the high rate of computer literate staff and powerful web sites could be accepted as the beginning of implementing E-commerce, Decision Support System and Data Warehousing/Data mining and furthermore show a willingness to invest in Informatics in the near future.
