Abstract:
The resources required to implement a new methodology in a company and, later on, to use it in the first development project will vary according to methodological complexity and user-friendliness. In this perspective, the QFD methodology must be considered as a rather complex methodology; however, given proper guidance and supportive tools, it can be regarded as a fairly user-friendly development tool. Nonetheless, it is advisable to initially assess the company usability of the methodology in a diagnostic/pilot project (DPP) and afterward, depending on the results, to adapt, apply and roll out the methodology in company R&D according to Fig. 24.1…
