Abstract:
Over the last 30 years, social capital (SC) has become a popular subject of studies in social sciences. In developmental and regional economics, as well as in management, the category of SC is usually linked with development of industrial clusters and their performance. In 2006, the European Commission decided to allocate a significant portion of the European Union (EU) Regional Development Fund to support cluster initiatives in its financial perspective of 2007–2013.
