No 29130, Report Series from Wageningen University and Research Center, Agricultural Economics Research Institute

Abstract: The organic material price project studies the methods and tools to improve the provision of information on 'Economic opportunities for organic farming in the EU Member Countries'. An important issue is the improvement of the quality and the speed of relevant information for policy purposes, for statistics and research on the farm sector. The report presents proposals on this as well as the results of analyses on (1) the relationship between the prices of organic products and prices of conventional products; (2) economic results of organic compared to similar sized conventional farms.
