Abstract: Several metals will play a critical role in the transition to a zero-carbon economy. Imbalances between supply and a growing demand for these metals could arise. In order to assess these imbalances, Miller et al (2023) estimate the demand for metals induced by the NGFS climate scenarios and outline the potential implications in terms of macro-financial vulnerabilities.

Plusieurs métaux joueront un rôle critique dans la transition vers une économie décarbonée. Des déséquilibres entre offre et demande croissante de ces métaux pourraient advenir. Afin de les appréhender, Miller et al. (2023) estiment la demande de métaux induite par les scénarios climatiques du NGFS et esquissent des implications potentielles en termes de vulnérabilités macro financière.
