Identifying Selected Services Traders in the Business Register

Fariha Kamal and Wei Ouyang

CES Technical Notes Series from Center for Economic Studies, U.S. Census Bureau

Abstract: This note describes the construction of a set of confidential crosswalk files enabling the identification of selected services trading firms in the U.S. economy. The effort links firms that report on the Survey of Transactions in Selected Services and Intellectual Property with Foreign Persons (BE-120/125) conducted by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) to the Census Bureau's Business Register (BR). The files are available from 2006 to 2019 with planned annual updates.
