Stephanie Karol and Jennifer Mayo

CES Technical Notes Series from Center for Economic Studies, U.S. Census Bureau

Abstract: This technical memorandum compares the information on the number of nonprofit employees in the LEHD data with information on paid and unpaid employees in publicly-available Form 990 data. It also compares industry classifications across the two datasets. Specifically, it compares the difference in classification by NAICS codes used in the LEHD data to the National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities industry classifications used in Form 990 data.
