CES Technical Notes Series from Center for Economic Studies, U.S. Census Bureau
Abstract:
This technical note describes the artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning (ML) algorithm used in the Canadian Exporter Business Register (LFTTD). It examines the challenges associated with matching business names in Canadian export data with those in the Business Register. The note also outlines the considerations underlying the algorithm and explains how it addresses these data-matching challenges.
