An Exploration of Entry to and Exit from Self-Employment

Abstract: The paper reports upon a study of entry to and exit from self-employment in Great Britain between 1975 and 1991. Based upon Labour Force Survey data the impact of the unemployment rate upon entry and exit rates and the individual propensities to enter and exit self-employment are explored.
