No 10290, EcoMod2017 from EcoMod

Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the efficiency of resource allocation in Turkish economy. It focuses on allocation of fixed resources and costs across the sectors as decision making units and setting targets for outputs simultaneously. Data envelopment analysis is being used for allocating inputs and setting targets for outputs. Inputs are, fixed capital investments and foreign direct investments. Outputs are, gdp growth rate, rate of employment increase, per capita income, increase in added value. Data includes 2005-2016 period. Findings show that in Turkish economy resource allocation across the sectors doesn't provide efficiency condition therefore funds transfer needs to be reviewed. As the most productive sector manufacturing industry has to encourage more investments for Turkish economy to achieve sustainable economic growth.
