Covid-19 and Output in Japan

Daisuke Fujii and Taisuke Nakata

Discussion papers from Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI)

Abstract: Using a tractable macro-SIRD model, we explore the relationship between the spread of Covid-19 and output in Japan. We also examine the consequences of adopting alternative criteria for ending the state of emergency currently in place in Tokyo. We will update our analysis weekly at https://Covid19OutputJapan.github.io/.
