Abstract:
Microfinance is not a financial activity intended only for the South. In France, almost all households have a bank account but a large proportion of them (20 to 30%) however, do not have access to traditional credit. This article aims at analyzing the contribution of French banks to the microfinance industry in France. It analyzes the reasons and procedures for French banks to grant microcredit to microfinance institutions through credit lines and to provide support services in the field of solidarity.
