Abstract:
The economic expertise in the field of competition consists, on the one hand, of theoretical and empirical research carried out by academics and researchers on the object, nature and scope of competition rules and on judicial decisions and, on the other hand, in an amicable or contentious framework, missions carried out by practioners. The purpose of this article is to present an overview of the different types of expertise that can be mobilized in the context of a competition case as well as the role played by economists in this context, within the framework of French competition law. We will focus our analysis on judicial experts and economic consulting firms and prove their differences.
