Natalija Kazlauskiene and William Meyers

Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) Publications from Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) at Iowa State University

Abstract: In the less than four years since Lithuanian independence, trade and trade policy have changed rapidly; and longer run tendencies in policies and trade patterns are beginning to emerge. This paper provides a brief overview of the traditional prereform trading arrangements and reviews the key stages in policy development by the independent Lithuanian state, the major trade patterns and arrangements, and prospects for the future.
