Abstract: This report is the IPTS annual "PREDICT" report, which presents all the data available on ICT R&D private and public expenditures in Europe, at sector level, at country level, in an international perspective (benchmarking), and at company level. It covers data for the period 2001-2005 (and 2006 for company data). The second part of the report includes a thematic analysis on R&D output in ICT and provides a detailed investigation of ICT R&D output based on the analysis of patent data.
