Abstract:
A commentary on Isager, van ‘t Veer, and Lakens’ (2024) “Replication value as a function of citation impact and sample size” (https://osf.io/preprints/metaarxiv/knjea). I caution researchers that the fast approximation can easily become a harmful crutch; it might substitute for researchers’ expert judgment of replication value and stifle detailed, substantive arguments.
