The Failure of the WTO and the Changing Patterns of International Trade
Eduard Marinov
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
One of the main reasons for the changes that have taken place in the current global system of international economic relations in recent years is the long-standing lack of progress in the multilateral regulation of world trade within the World Trade Organization (WTO), which is driving countries to search for other ways to promote trade and create a new institutional system regulating trade. The article makes an attempt to explain some of the reasons for this failure of the WTO and outlines the main transformations and trends in the world economy caused by the mishap of multilateralism.
