Birinci faktorle ilgili olarak, bazi temel ara ve yatirim mallarinda yurt ii uretim miktarinin yeterli duzeyde olmamasi, Cin ve Hindistan gibi ulkelerden daha ucuza temin imkani, dis ticaret rejimi (dahilde isleme rejimi ve Gumruk Birligi), doviz kurunun gelisimi, kaliteli ara ve yatirim mali kullanma ihtiyaci, kuresel uretim aglari (dikey uzmanlasma yapilari) ve yabanci sermayeli sirketlerin orgutlenme yapilari ile yurt disi kredi imkaninin firmalarin ithalat kararlarini etkiledigi tespit edilmistir. Ikinci faktre ynelik olarak ise yeni uzmanlasma yapisinda one cikan (hizli buyuyen) sektorlerde (motorlu kara tasitlari, diger ulasim araclari, elektrikli makine, ana metal gibi) ithal girdi kullanim oranlarinin geleneksel emek-yogun sektorlerden daha yuksek oldugu ve sektorel uretim yapisindaki degisimin sanayi genelinde ithal girdi kullanim oranini artirdigi ortaya konulmustur.
