Abstract:
Cooperation is the basis for complex organizational structures in biological as well as social systems. However, there is still an innate selfishness in us that greatly challenges our cooperative drive in the context of natural selection. Up to date, numerous mechanisms have been proposed to facilitate cooperation. And in recent years, under the proposed interactive diversity reflecting the differentiate behavior towards distinct co-players, all the interaction environment is consistent and static which is not totally matched with the variable and distinguished environment in realistic life. Besides, the environment for pairwise interactions is more reasonable than the one for one player. Thereout, we take the dynamic edge environment under interactive diversity into consideration and introduce parameter δ to denote the environment fluctuation scale. The numeral simulation results suggest that although a larger δ plays a more significant role, the dynamic edge environment is a double-edged sword, as the cooperation can be promoted significantly when the temptation to defect is relatively large, while one would be eroded when the temptation to defect is relatively small.
