Abstract:
Purpose: The aim of the research was to determine residents' attitudes to the consequences of making the Smart City a reality in the practice of social, economic and political life. The specific aim was to identify the specific tasks to be performed by the local administration which, in the opinion of the residents, will create a Smart City. Design/Methodology/Approach: A literature analysis and critique method and a diagnostic survey method were used to verify the hypotheses posed. The study was conducted on the basis of a questionnaire survey on a research sample of 500 inhabitants of Zabrze, who were selected in a quota and random manner. Findings: The opinion of Zabrze residents on the management of the implementation of Smart City solutions was identified. Practical Implications: The application dimension of the research project consisted of using the results to formulate the "Smart City Strategy - Zabrze 2030". Originality/Value: Specific tasks have been identified to be carried out by the area administration, which residents believe will create a smart urban space.
