Human Resource Management in Non-Governmental Organizations and their Security

Abstract: Purpose: The aim of the article is to examine how human resource management, and the implementation of new technologies affect the safety of employees in non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The first part discusses the main principles and objectives of human resource management in NGOs, taking into account the specific needs of this sector. Subsequently, the authors focus on the recruitment and selection of employees, considering safety aspects and analysing which traits and skills are particularly important for work in NGOs. The article then presents the impact of new technologies on human resource management. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research problem is formulated as follows: What actions and tools in human resource management can enhance the safety level of NGO employees? In line with the research problem, a hypothesis is proposed, suggesting that careful employee selection and the implementation of modern technologies supporting safety can significantly reduce risks and increase efficiency and safety at work in NGOs. The article employs theoretical research methods, such as literature analysis and reliable online sources, to understand current trends and challenges in human resource management within the NGO sector and the implementation of technologies that improve safety. Findings: Continued research is necessary on optimal recruitment methods and ways to implement new technologies to better tailor human resource management to the specific operational conditions of NGOs. Further studies on the impact of new technologies on personnel safety are particularly important, along with an analysis of the challenges associated with their implementation in various geographical and cultural contexts. Practical implications: As technology advances, NGOs increasingly adopt modern tools to support employee safety. Innovative solutions, such as monitoring systems, rapid communication applications, and remote crisis management tools, help minimize risks associated with field activities. Utilizing such technologies not only enhances safety standards but also allows for better control and management in emergency situations, which is crucial for protecting NGO employees and volunteers operating in unpredictable conditions. Originality/value: The development of tools supporting safety management can contribute to raising operational standards for NGOs worldwide while minimizing risks associated with their activities.
