The Development of Large-Capacity Liquefied Natural Gas Production as the Strategic Priority of Economic and Social Development of Russia

Abstract: The article considers one of the prospective directions in gas industry — production and consumption of liquefied natural gas. The main goal is to define development of large-capacity liquefied natural gas production in Russia as the strategic priority. The article contains the results of OTSW analysis, which identified the opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of development of this direction in Russia, and also determines the competitive advantages. The author formulates the basic documents of the strategy: mission and vision. Also the author underlines the importance of the adequate use of the funds received from the sale of LNG as an investment in the long-term development of human capital.
