Тhe article investigates the ways of formation and development of problems of the national protojournalism XVI-XVII centuries, the emergence of such phenomena of domestic media reality, as handwritten wisdom of medieval Russia (Chronicles by A. Nikitin, N. Iskander), essay by I. S. Peresvetov, epistolography of Ivan the Terrible, the content of the first Russian proto-newspaper “Chimes†.
