The Role of the Indian Diaspora in the US-India Bilateral Relations

Abstract: The purpose of the article is the analysis of the importance of the Indian diaspora in the development of the US -India bilateral relations. The hypothesis of the article is the following statement: the Indian diaspora is a significant factor in the US - India cooperation. In accordance with the above stated purpose, the following tasks are accomplished: firstly, the analysis of the Indian policy aimed at the consolidation of the relations with the Indian diaspora; secondly, the research of the genesis of the Indian diaspora in the USA; thirdly, the analysis of the new initiatives, both from the US and India, aimed at the strengthening of people-to-people ties.
